HOW TO GET THE BEST HAIRCUT POSSIBLE:
If you are coming for a reshape/ trim, please come with your hair freshly washed and styled so that we may see how you like it best and how you are styling it at home to get a sense of your lifestyle.
If you are coming in for a shape change, please come in with photos or a Pinterest board of your new idea.
If you are not sure, please come in early to look through our magazines and start to get a sense of what you desire.

Curly haircuts
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR CURLY CUT:
Please come with freshly washed and dried hair the day of your appointment. Be sure that your hair is free of any products with no headbands, clips, or hairpieces- just down and natural. While drying your hair the day of your appointment, scrunch your hair to encourage natural curl and dry with a micro-fiber towel. It is important to follow all of these instructions in order to receive your Curly Cut.

Our expert staff will train you in the fundamentals of daily hair care and styling, encouraging and supporting you to embrace and enjoy the authentic quality of your natural hair every day. Color Services
HOW TO GET THE BEST OUT OF YOUR COLOR SERVICE:
Please come with freshly washed hair (preferably use a deep cleansing shampoo) and well hydrated hair (preferably use a deep conditioning treatment) and refrain from using any styling products prior to your appointment.
In order to get the best life out of your color service, refrain from washing or wetting your hair for 72 hours or at least 24 after your color service.
ALL-OVER COLOR GLAZE
Also commonly called “single-process hair color,” all-over color is a one-step process that involves coating the hair with a single shade.
RE-GROWTH TOUCH-UPS
Instead of coloring the entirety of your hair every time you need to cover grey, re-growth touch ups simply color just the re-growth to match the existing color on the mid-shaft/ends of your hair. Each re-growth touch up includes a glaze service as well.
TONER
Toner is a very light color which is used to “tone” pre-lightened hair. For example, if you want platinum blonde hair, your hair must first be lightened to the lightest possible blonde, which may result in an unwanted tone. A violet toner is applied to the hair to counteract the yellow, leaving you with a nice, cool, platinum tone.
GREY COVERAGE/BLENDING
This option will completely cover or blend the grey hair. The color fades gradually and uniformly. This service will last 4-6 weeks and is an easy addition to any haircut service.

Micro-Lights: to add 'invisible' brightness and dimension
Partial Highlights: hairline, part line and cowlick area
3/4 Highlights: entire head is highlighted with the exception of the nape area up to the parietal area
Full Highlights: the entire head is highlighted
Lowlights: to add dimension and/ or depth

Corrective Color is any color service that requires two or more steps to correct unwanted tones and will leave the client with a noticeably different look. This can vary, ranging from a significant change in color shade (i.e. going from light to dark or dark to light), balancing uneven tones or different levels of color throughout the hair. Sometimes this service needs to be done in phases, over a few appointments. This all depends on the individual situation.

Do away with dull hair with a Clear Gloss Shine Treatment. This shine enhancing treatment is like a top coat polish for your hair. A Clear Gloss Shine Treatment can illuminate the hair and protect existing color, that will leave your hair glowing and healthy looking. A clear glaze is a semi-permanent, shine application. The shine lasts up to 18 shampoos when using one of our color-safe washes and rinses. Sea salt, sun, and chlorine exposure will greatly reduce the longevity of any color/glossing service.

This treatment will relieve dry, itchy or oily scalp and remove environmental build-up and product that can dull the natural shine and color of your hair. Kinship uses a detoxifying shampoo that contains AHA’s (fruit acids) that break down fatty acids for a clean, clear scalp. The balancing essential oils penetrate the scalp to brighten hair and purify an oily or flaky scalp. It contains anti-pollutant ingredients that remove build-up of unwanted products and chemicals. This purifying shampoo contains natural antiseptics to detoxify the hair and scalp. Followed by a deeply relaxing scalp massage using an ultra rich and revitalizing hair and scalp masque that contains a blend of pure botanicals and features a combination of high quality ingredients that are designed to deeply penetrate into the depth of the hair shaft and scalp, providing the ultimate nutrition, nourishment, and rejuvenation.

Balayage is a French coloring technique that was developed in the 1970s. It is a freehand technique where the color is applied by hand rather than using the traditional foiling or cap highlighting techniques. Balayage can be used in even the shortest pixie crop however the best result is in hair at or below the shoulders.
You can achieve so many different effects from soft, natural dimension to something strong. The fact that it is so low maintenance is such a draw-card. People want to look fashionable and feel good about their appearance but in this day and age we don't all have the time to be in the salon every few weeks for a touch up.
