Independent Hair Stylist

3 days minimum

We are looking for stylists who’d like to work 3-4 days per week. We are flexible on days available to rent. We do have some overflow especially with those who specialize in shorter haircuts and curly haircuts. We’d prefer it if you are mostly established.

Hi there, I'm Megan, the Owner of Kinship Hair Co. and we are looking for established booth renters to come join our community!

Kinship Hair Co. is a beautiful, modern, bright, relaxed, yet professional working environment. We have been a landmark location in Downtown Santa Cruz for 15 years. Our clientele appreciate our in-depth consultations, warm atmosphere and attentive customer care. We are a Certified Green Business and part of the Green Circle Salons Program. With these programs we divert up to 95% of our salon's waste from the landfill and water systems.

As an Independent Hair Business you will enjoy:

  • A retail commission on all products sold or a space for your own retail line(s)

  • A fun team of stylists to work with that are willing to collaborate and are super kind!

  • A salon coordinator who keeps the space clean from 10am-4pm, Tuesday-Friday. As well as greeting guests and offering beverages, inventory, towel folding, replenishing back bar and station stock, running errands, station clean up, etc.

  • A strong reputation and following of clientele as we are 15 years in the making

  • AMAZING location, lots of walk-ins and online bookings

  • An abundance of square footage and a beautifully designed large station that is private and not directly beside a co-worker, lots of storage

  • Weekly salon deep cleaning service

  • Monthly window cleaning service

  • Key to Kinship, operable from 8am-9pm

  • A beautiful display of Kevin Murphy, Innersense and some other retail lines for you to sell if you decide, not required

  • Beverage bar, THE LIST GOES ON...

To qualify, please have a business license with the City of Santa Cruz, liability insurance & a cosmetology license for the State of California.

Salon DESK AND FLOOR ASSISTANT —

NOT AT THIS TIME

Wednesday-Friday: 9:00am-4:00pm

(Flexibility for 4 days if desired).
Pay is $20/hour starting depending on experience.

Note: Kinship Hair Co. has two levels/stories

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Floor management
-Guest services
-Ensure a welcoming and tidy salon environment
-Checking in frequently with all stylists throughout the duration of shift
-Product restock and ordering
-Administrative tasks such as emails etc..
-Point of sale
-Social Media management
-Merchandising
